Pause I (2005)
DVD (limited edition of 5), infinite loop
Digital technology
has contributed to the disassociation of images from narrative by
supplying a model of information transmission as pulses of discrete data
packets. "Pause" explores the contrast between
"digital" delivery of an image, in which it exists in isolation,
and the very human "analog" mode of reception in which the image
is rejoined with their real or imaginary narratives. This piece also
exists in a three-channel version.
